Trustees have duties to safeguard charity assets and to ensure the best application of resources, and a good system of internal control is key to this. It is recommended that you periodically seek to challenge the received wisdom, and spend some time considering the “what if” scenarios that could affect your organisation.
This masterclass, presented by our member firm MHA Carpenter Box identifies actions you can take to mitigate the risk of fraud.

James Gawman is an Associate in the Assurance and Advisory Group at MHA Carpenter Box. James trained as a chartered certified accountant at MHA Carpenter Box and qualified in 2002. With over 20 years of experience in a number of sectors, he was heavily involved in the not for profit sector. James advises corporates and individuals on business compliance matters, tax planning, remuneration structuring and commercial support. Other specialist areas include practice assurance and company secretarial support.
