The annual Central & East Dealmakers Awards recognise the high quality professional advisory firms in the region and are eagerly awaited and hotly contested. Two of our member firms have been shortlisted for awards. Our East Anglian member firm, Larking Gowen has been shortlisted for the Corporate Finance Advisory Firm of the Year and Deal of the Year (transaction size under £10m) awards. Our South East member firm, MHA MacIntyre Hudson has been shortlisted for the Private Equity/Venture Capital Deal of the Year and Deal of the Year (transaction size under £10m) awards. Also, one of our Corporate Finance Partners, Laurence Whitehead has been shortlisted for the Dealmaker of the Year award. The winners will be unveiled at the gala dinner event that is taking place on Thursday 22 November 2018. A high quality panel of independent experts was assembled to judge all the award categories.
Philip Cunliffe, Insider’s Regional Business Editor, who chaired the judging panel, said: “It’s clearly been another very busy year for the region’s corporate finance community as we received a record number of entries for the deals categories.”
Being shortlisted for the awards is fantastic recognition for the hard work our corporate finance teams put in on a daily basis to help clients achieve their goals. It has been a busy year for our national Corporate Finance team, four of our member firms were ranked highly in Experian’s M&A report for H1 2018 – MHA Broomfield Alexander were ranked most active financial advisers in Wales, Larking Gowen were ranked joint most active in East Anglia, Tait Walker were ranked top in the North East and MHA Moore & Smalley were ranked 10th in the North West.
On a combined basis, MHA firms completed 51 transactions in H1 2018 and this would place us joint third in the UK financial advisor rankings by volume.
