To non-accountants, the whole area of accounting and finance can be hugely daunting with mysterious terminology and confusing presentation of information.
Yet understanding finance is critical for charity trustees to fulfil their statutory role for oversight and setting strategic direction, as well as for charity staff in managing budgets and contributing to the financial success of the organisation.
Join MHA MacIntyre Hudson for a practical and enlightening session looking at basic accounting concepts, the charity accounting framework and the format of charity accounts. What do the key terms mean and what should you be pleased or alarmed about when you review the financial statements for your organisation?
They will also discuss the importance of regular, reliable management accounts as a key tool in your financial management toolbox.
This session is aimed at people who do not have a charity or a financial background but would like to understand more about this area, perhaps to assist them in their role as a charity Trustee or Treasurer.
Non-finance staff who have to use or review statutory and / or management accounts as part of their operational role will also benefit.
The seminar will feature sessions led by James Gare, Sally Knight and Sudhir Singh who are specialist partners in the MHA MacIntyre Hudson Not for Profit team based in the London City office.
This seminar is complimentary. To reserve your place(s) please register by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org
