MHA targets growth with new Manchester office and senior hires

MHA, the UK-wide group of accountancy and business advisory firms, has continued its expansion in the North West with the opening of an office in Manchester. MHA Moore and Smalley, which announced a record turnover of £17.77m in June, has taken offices at 80 Mosley Street in the heart of the city.

The office will be led by new partners Andrew Feeke and Colin Abrahams, and new corporate finance director Simon Carruthers further strengthening the North West and national teams. All three have joined from Baldwins’ Manchester office.

Graham Gordon, managing partner of MHA Moore and Smalley, said: “Manchester has long been part of our strategic growth plans and we’ve been testing the market for some time, using serviced offices to support our clients in the region.

“The growth potential for us lies in our specialist services that can help business owners plan for the future. This includes business growth consultancy, corporate finance advice, cross-border tax and VAT advice, and our established digital accounting offer.”

Rakesh Shaunak, Chairman at MHA added: “2019 marks an important milestone in MHA’s development. We rebranded nationally and internationally earlier in the year reflecting our commitment to our global network. The expansion of our footprint into the North West further emphasises our national capabilities and appetite to support clients wherever they may be based in the UK.

The MHA network operates across England, Scotland and Wales. MHA joined Baker Tilly International, a top 10 global network of advisors in 145 territories, as the UK member in 2014.
